As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I have dedicated my career to helping individuals achieve mental wellness. I'm also a human; a daughter, a wife, a mom to twin toddlers, a live music lover, and a fitness instructor. I've found deep purpose in helping people release the burden that comes with carrying memories from a tumultuous past. I'm also someone who has experienced the value of therapeutic services from a client perspective. I believe in the power of therapy to transform lives and I am committed to supporting my clients on their journey towards healing and personal growth.

My Services
I provide individual therapy to adults, and my practice is conducted primarily online. This allows me to reach anyone located in the state of Arizona, and eliminates several barriers to care including transportation, illness, and proximity to a physical office. I appreciate the accessibility and flexibility that come with remote therapy services. I've witnessed incredible outcomes in trauma resolution with clients who are able to log in from the comfort of their homes. This setting often allows people the safety to access deep emotions and the space to decompress in their preferred way immediately following a heavy session.

For those who prefer face-to-face sessions, I am excited to share that I now have a part-time office available in Tempe, AZ for in person sessions. This cozy space is conveniently located right off the Loop 101 and Southern Avenue. These sessions are offered on Mondays between 9am and 12pm, and Wednesdays and Fridays between 9am and 4pm. Check out my Instagram story highlights for an office tour!

EMDR is a modality that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences. EMDR therapy shows that the mind can in fact heal from psychological trauma and often yields quicker results than talk therapy. Eye movements (or other bilateral stimulation) are used to help participants process the memory and disturbing feelings, resulting in the meaning of the painful event being transformed on an emotional level. EMDR can also help people prepare for anticipated future events.

DBT focuses on helping people accept the reality of their lives and their behaviors, as well as helping them learn to change their lives, including their unhelpful behaviors. “Dialectical” means allowing two opposite ideas to coexist. DBT is especially effective for people who have difficulty managing and regulating their emotions. DBT offers detailed skills and handouts from 4 different modules: Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, and Interpersonal Effectiveness.

Somatic therapy explores how the body expresses deeply painful experiences, applying mind-body healing to aid with trauma recovery. It posits that our body holds and expresses experiences and emotions, and traumatic events or unresolved emotional issues can become 'trapped' inside. This approach offers a hopeful perspective on trauma wherein it is believed that humans have an instinctual capacity to heal through neutralizing and regulating nervous system arousal that accompanied defensive survival strategies.

“Mindfulness is awareness that arises through paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment, non-judgmentally.” – John Kabat-Zinn. Mindfulness enables us to not be overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us. People may be encouraged to practice mindfulness through breathing exercises, body sensation awareness, guided meditation, or in everyday activities. These skills can be incorporated into other modalities as well.
